Beware.</title><content type='html'>&lt;div style="margin-bottom: 0in;"&gt;&lt;span style="font-family: Arial,sans-serif;"&gt;&lt;span style="font-size: medium;"&gt;There is a problem with some Ford 2004-2008 vehicles with the 4.6 and 5.4 V8 engines as well as some V6 equipped vehicles. The spark plugs can break off in the heads, creating a potentially expensive problem for the owner. Go to Google and search "F150 broken spark plug" (with quotes) or search Ford TSB 8-7-6 (without quotes) for more information and for vehicles affected.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div style="margin-bottom: 0in;"&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div style="margin-bottom: 0in;"&gt;&lt;span style="font-family: Arial,sans-serif;"&gt;&lt;span style="font-size: medium;"&gt;My 2006 F150 had 73, 000 miles on it when I started getting random engine misfires and "stumbling" on acceleration. Even though the plugs are supposed to be good for 100,000 miles, mine were shot well before that time. Fearing the process/expense of having my plugs changed, I acquired the necessary tooling to do the work myself. Being a licensed aircraft mechanic for almost 30 years and following TSB 8-7-9 to the letter, I STILL broke off 5 out of 8 of my plugs!
